The Domestic Violence Center of Howard County offers innovative and comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence. The Clinical Department invites applications for the position of Clinical Director. This is a full time position, 40 hours per week, with full benefits package and competitive salary.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of Clinical Department and chair one agency strategic planning team;
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for a caseload of 10-12 clients;
Provide crisis intervention services for walk-in and helpline callers;
Create, maintain, and submit accurate records and documents on a timely basis and in an appropriate manner;
Prepare statistical reports for Clinical Department to monitor expenditures and grants;
Maintain documentation, client files, and statistics as required by agency policies and funding sources;
Maintain current knowledge of assessment and treatment techniques, criminal justice systems, and community resources using in-service training, seminars, workshops, and publications;
Coordinate the formulation, assessment, and achievement of policies and goals for the Clinical Department;
Work with other agency staff to plan and facilitate staff retreats, workshops, in-services, etc.;
Provide ongoing assistance on domestic violence issues to the community;
Provide clinical supervision to non-licensed staff and interns/externs;
Coordinate and interact with local and statewide treatment providers and social service agencies to facilitate collaboration efforts;
Receive intake calls for treatment, assign clients to staff, and communicate information to appropriate agency staff to ensure follow through.
Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral Degree in Social Work or Psychology from an accredited college or university, or equivalent;
Licensed under Maryland's Department of Health & Mental Hygiene;
Minimum two years experience providing direct clinical work, post licensure, in an appropriate treatment field (child abuse, victim counseling, and/or substance abuse) indicating full competency in clinical diagnostic assessment skills and individualized treatment plans;
Experience in providing supervision to clinical staff;
Skill in use of crisis intervention techniques;
Knowledge of Federal, State, and local ordinances and policies regarding therapeutic issues;
Experience in preparing comprehensive documentation and statistics;
Basic computer skills and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
